Chancellor's Future Leaders in Research

A research opportunity for undergraduates

Offering a unique opportunity to conduct research early in your college career, the Chancellor's Future Leaders in Research (CFLR) program allows you to take part in discovery in any of the 75 programs of study LSU offers. You will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with professors in a research setting, such as a laboratory or in the field, and learn what a career in your chosen field may be like. Once enrolled in the program, you will be partnered with a faculty mentor in a field of your choice. As a member of your mentor’s research team, you will receive guidance and support that will expand your knowledge and skills.

The experience you can gain from the program will provide life-long benefits. From co-authoring an article and writing software, to conducting lab experiments and presenting findings, your experiences will provide a firm foundation on which to build your future success.

All incoming freshmen who are Chancellor's Alumni Scholars, LSU Alumni Association Top 100 Scholars or Distinguished Freshmen are eligible for CFLR.
